5 Things To Do In Ocean City This Weekend

From the Heartwalk to a treasure hunt to triathlon, here are five things to do in Ocean City this weekend.

X Marks the Spot Treasure Hunt (Saturday and Sunday, May 18th & 19th): The 10th annual open beach metal detecting hunt at the Ocean City Music Pier. The event runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, beginning with a special hunt for kids (ages 2 to 13) that morning. The event includes an optional big silver hunt Saturday and optional gold hunt Sunday (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Loaner detectors are available. Two prizes will be given out each day. About Boating Safety Class (Saturday, May 18th): U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 81, is offering it’s About Boating Safety course. The class will be held at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, located at 8th St. and Central Ave. in Ocean City. The course begins at 8:30 AM and runs to 5:00 PM. The cost of the course is $60.00, which includes lunch and training materials.

OCNJ Triathlon/Duathlon (Sunday, May 19th): Quarter-mile pool swims followed by a 2-mile run, 16-mile bike, and another 2-mile run. Kids’ course is half the distance. Pool swim slots are 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. The Run-Bike-Run starts at 9 a.m. For more information, call 609-399-6111 or visit www.ocnj.us/race-events.

Walk to End Lupus Now (Sunday, May 19th): The 11th annual walk provides people affected by lupus and their families the opportunity to come together for one unified purpose: ending lupus.
