Get Ready For These March Events In Ocean City

Do you feel spring around the corner yet? You just might with this slate of March events in Ocean City.

Mark Soifer Poetry Reading (7 p.m. March 6): Ocean City’s longtime public relations director will read from his 10th poetry book, “Pair of Dice Lost” at the Ocean City Library (1735 Simpson Ave.). The book is illustrated by Jerome Lukas, who will demonstrate his talents at the reading. Admission is free.

Blondage Sings Irish Favorites (7-8 p.m. March 14): The female and naturally blonde trio Blondage performs a free St. Patrick’s Day concern at Ocean City Arts Center. The group consists of lead singer Linda Moore, guitarist and mandolinist Susan Salmon and Susan Davenport on violin and fiddle. The band sings everything from Irish music to rock to country. No reservations are necessary, but donations to the Arts Center are appreciated.

Spring Book Sale (10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 22, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 23): The Friends and Volunteers of the Ocean City Free Public Library hold their two-day book sale. The sale takes place in the atrium of the Ocean City Library and features specially priced fiction and nonfiction books, DVDs, children’s books and more.

Sports Memorabilia Show (March 30): Collectors from around the region will showcase sports cards and memorabilia at the Ocean City Music Pier. All-star guests will be announced on a later date. Vendors interested in participating can get more information from Lauren Sopko at lsopko@ocnj.us.
