Summer 2022 is the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company’s 15th official season. The company is kicking things off with a celebratory production featuring performers from the past 15 years.
“Broadway on the OC Boardwalk,” scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, will be a walk down memory lane as over 12 past OCTC performers return to the Music Pier stage for an evening of Broadway hits.
“Think of it as a live Broadway time capsule of memorable OCTC performances,” said Artistic Director of the Ocean City Theatre Company Michael Hartman.
For past performers, the Ocean City Theatre Company was the launching pad for their musical theatre career in regional theatres, touring productions, cruise lines, and Broadway.
The Ocean City Theatre Company annually holds a competitive NYC casting process where hundreds of triple-threat performers audition to earn a chance to perform in Ocean City.
“We have had the opportunity to welcome incredible talent to Ocean City, and our Broadway on the OC Boardwalk production serves as the perfect opportunity to highlight 15 years of OCTC’s achievements and spectacular talent,” said Hartman.
The production will also feature the talents of the youth in the educational programs, including the award-winning Spotlight Performers Show Choir. In just 15 years, OCTC has produced over 60 fully staged productions.
Broadway on the OC Boardwalk will highlight performances from those 60-plus shows, including The Wizard of Oz, Cats, Crazy For You, A Chorus Line, Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Newsies, and more.
OceanFirst Foundation returns as the presenting sponsor of Broadway on the OC Boardwalk, and Jonathan Kreamer will serve as music director and accompanist.
