Ocean City Moving To Twice-Weekly Trash Pickup

Ocean City Moving To Twice-Weekly Trash Pickup

By Josh Bakan, Patch Staff

Ocean City will begin twice-weekly trash and recycling pickup Monday. Here’s the summer schedule for collection:

  • Longport Bridge to the north end of 9th Street: Monday and Thursday (yard waste Thursday)
  • south side of 9th Street to the north side of 28th Street: Tuesday and Friday (yard waste Tuesday)
  • south side of 28th Street to 59th Street: Wednesday and Saturday (yard waste Wednesday)

Containers must be 32 gallons or less. Recycling and yard wast can’t be placed in plastic bags and must be in labeled containers. Free labels are available at City Hall (9th Street and Asbury Avenue) or the Knight Building (12th Street and Haven Avenue).

Here are Ocean City’s “Recycling Do’s and Don’ts.”

Regularly scheduled pickup occurs on Independence Day and Labor Days. The only holidays that interrupt Ocean City’s pickup are Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
