Ocean City made two lists: the top 16 East Coast beaches to visit and 2020’s best beach towns to live in.
Ocean City has won plenty of titles — some to be more proud of than others, depending on your perspective. In the past few years, various publications have labeled Ocean City as America’s happiest seaside resort, America’s best beach, the nation’s best dessert city, the safest city in New Jersey, the Garden State’s most boring town, the state’s best place to be single and the drunkest city in New Jersey.
What other city can claim all these titles?
Ocean City has earned two more accolades. WalletHub named the city one of 2020’s best beach towns to live in. Ocean City also made the U.S. News and World Report list of the top 16 East Coast beaches to visit.
Ocean City is America’s 47th best beach town to live in, which tops New Jersey, according to WalletHub. The publication compared 191 cities across 63 key factors of livability. Their six key dimensions include affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life.
WalletHub ranked Ocean City 20th in terms of safety but placed the city 113th and 112th in terms of affordability and weather, respectively.
U.S. News and World Report doesn’t list criteria, but Ocean City and Cape May represent New Jersey on the list.
