Ocean City Postpones Halloween Trick-Or-Treating To Nov. 1

By Josh Bakan, Patch Staff

Ocean City’s Halloween will not be on Halloween. The City postponed trick-or-treating to this Friday because of the bad weather forecast. Trick-or-treating hours are 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Here are a few safety tips from the City:

  • Wear reflective clothing.
  • Stay in large groups.
  • Young children should be accompanied by an adult.
  • Obey the pedestrian safety laws — it is dark and vehicle drivers may not see you.
  • Carry a flashlight.
  • Costumes should not restrict visibility.
  • Do not open any candy until you get home and your parents inspect the items.
  • Report any suspicious person or activity to the police immediately.

The Thursday forecast calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, with gusts up to 43 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
