Parking Fees Go Mobile In Ocean City

Parking Fees Go Mobile In Ocean City

Veronica Flesher, Patch Staff

Some parking spots in Ocean City have had their meters removed. Now, the only way to pay for parking at these areas is via the ParkMobile app, the city announced.

Parking fees at the north-end lot near the Ocean City-Longport Bridge, at the 59th Street Beach lot, and along the beachfront E. Atlantic Blvd., Beach Road and the area from 57th Street to 59th Street can now be paid only through the ParkMobile app or by calling the toll-free ParkMobile number listed on signs near these parking spots.

While the meter heads have been removed, city officials said that fees still apply and must be paid through ParkMobile.

If you don’t have the ParkMobile app, here’s what to do:

  1. Download the app: Search “parkmobile” on your phone’s app store or visit www.parkmobile.com. Set up your account.
  2. Select time and zone: Choose how long you want to park and enter the zone number located on signs near your parking spot. Customers can receive alerts when their meter time is about to expire and extend their time remotely.
  3. Confirm your information: Please be sure to choose the correct license plate to avoid being ticketed.
  4. Check app for time-remaining ticker: Check the app to see how much time remains.

If you have a cell phone but not a smartphone, you can call to set up an account. Once you have an account with ParkMobile, you can call the number posted on signs near your parking spot and make a parking payment over the phone.
