Miss Night in Venice 2024 Reagan McCormack had her shining moment aboard a boat, alongside her fellow contestants, in the boat parade Saturday.
It is one of the special treats for contestants who raise funds for charity in the annual pageant.
The crowning ceremony was at the Ocean City Tabernacle on July 15. The 10 contestants spent weeks leading up to the pageant raising funds for local charities, officials said.
Reagan participates in the city’s annual Baby Parade, the Christmas Parade and other major events, officials noted.
“All of the contestants worked hard to raise money for all our chosen charities this year,” Meredith Harvey, of the Miss Night in Venice committee, said while noting that the participants all deserved major kudos.
Over the past 25 years, the pageant has raised over $1 million for charities, she noted.
Reagan’s court was Maddie Doto, Skylar Cohen, Courtney Conrad and Callie Poltorak. The other contestants were Kaela Catino, Emily Russo, Taylor Mulford, Brooke Liebrand and Kailyn Kelly.
Reagan collected the most money for charity. Her sponsor was Gabriel Building Group in Ocean City. The amount she raised was not disclosed. However, all of the funds raised were going to be dispersed among the charities, Meredith Harvey, of the Miss Night in Venice Committee, explained Tuesday.
This is the list of the charities: The Ocean City After Prom Party, Shore Medical Center, The Ocean City Ecumenical Council Food Cupboard, The Ocean City Arts Center, The HERO Campaign, The OC Tabernacle after school programs, Sunshine Foundation, Ryan’s Case for Smiles – SJ, the OCNJ Care project, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties and Quilts of Valor.
