After summer comes to an end, thousands still visit Ocean City for its Fall Block Party. It’s more than just a local draw – it’s one of the best. This annual event was voted as one of the best fall festivals in the entire country, according to USA Today.
USA Today readers voted on the 10 best fall festivals in the U.S., and coming in fourth place is the favorite Fall Block Party.
“The evening fireworks are a sight to see, but don’t miss out on the daytime festivities too, with live entertainment and several hundred vendors congregating to sell local crafts, food, and beverages for festival guests,” USA Today said of the party.
This year’s party is set for Oct. 7, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
More than 400 food vendors, crafters and entertainers will line a mile of downtown Asbury Avenue between Fifth Street and 14th Street, according to the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce.
Attendees can enjoy live music, local food and pony rides for children.
Street parking will be free at all metered spots and all municipal parking lots in Ocean City, including at the Transportation Center lot (Ninth Street and Haven Avenue) and at the municipal lots on the 700 and 800 blocks of Central Avenue.
The evening is capped off with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. The show is launched from a barge off the Ocean City Music Pier and will be best viewed from the boardwalk and beach between Fifth Street and 14th Street, according to the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce.
The Indian Summer Weekend (Oct. 7 to 9) celebration also includes table sales by downtown and boardwalk merchants with discounted merchandise set up between Sixth Street and 14th Street on the boardwalk and Asbury Avenue throughout the weekend.
