‘Shrek The Musical Jr.’ Performed By Ocean City Theatre Company

Join Ocean City Theatre Company Friday and Saturday for their production of “Shrek the Musical Jr.”
Performances will be held at Ocean City Music Pier on Aug. 26 and 27 at 7:30 p.m. All tickets are $15 per person.
The student adaptation is based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation motion picture, fantastic Broadway musical and book by William Steig. It features a cast of more than 40 fifth through eighth grade students.
“It’s a ‘big bright beautiful world’ as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance,” OCTC said in a release. “Part romance and part twisted fairy tale; SHREK JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.”
“Shrek Jr.” features music by Jeanine Tesori with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abair. OCTC’s production is under the direction of a talented creative team comprised of Hannah Catanoso (Director/Choreographer), Angie Cocuzza (Director/Choreographer), Brinley Edwards (Music Director), Aubrey Colbert (Hair and Makeup Design), James Hartman (Set Design) and Todd Williams (Lighting Design). “Shrek the Musical Jr.” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
