Just when all hope seems lost, an unexpected hero takes center stage. Shows for both nights start at 7:30 p.m.
The Ocean City Pops will present “Broadway Smash Hits: The Great White Way” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 31. Maestro Vince Lee, the Pops and special guests will celebrate the world of theater with the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Stephen Sondheim and others.

The Philadelphia natives’ brand of bluesy rock is the perfect soundtrack for a summer night. Most people know Kevin Bacon from an acting career that includes more than 80 film credits. But he and his brother have been devoted to making music from an early age, and they have produced 10 albums together, including their most recent, “The Way We Love,” in 2020.
The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company will continue its family-friendly theatrical series at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 with “Super Sidekick: The Musical.” When famous superhero Blackjack the Bold is kidnapped by an evil sorcerer, it’s up to his assistant, Inky, to step up and save the day.
